TTA Members - NEW PROCEDURES effective beginning August 12, 2025 at Sunset Ridge:
First, before the round PLEASE re-read the TTA procedures on our website (https://www.ttacny.com)
Biggest Problems to rectify that have been brought to my attention:
2 foot rule- Never give it or say it’s OK to anyone else. Each of us is responsible for our own gimmies.
Follow sand trap rules, if none are announced, follow procedures for sand traps
Most problems deal with scoring (math, legible penmanship and a lack of understanding of your role in the round) AND counting your strokes! It’s OK to ask another to count again. It’s TTA etiquette to be polite to the guy checking to ensure you counted accurately. (the a--hole)
Don’t go to your hole to begin play until the “all clear” is given.
These are the new procedures we will follow to ensure everyone plays a role in the day’s game and hopefully it is more efficient. You can complete your responsibilities before getting your beer, I don’t think the course will run out.
Below is an example of your 4-some on the team sheet. Each task is to be completed before going to the bar or bathroom!!
TEE TASK PLAYER HNCP
1A $-man Bill Doolittle 13
Score-1 Bill Sanford 34
Score-2 Bob Boyle 15
Skin-man Bob Tolone 14
"$-man" collects the money ($7 or $8) from each player in the group.
"Score-1"/"Score-2" are the 2 team scorecard scorers. Each keeps a separate scorecard for their team (smart guys will make sure they are in sync after each hole). Write the first and LAST name (we have 15 Jims!!) with the handicap, on the card. Do yourself a favor and write players' names in the same order on each card. You will dot the card AND circle your starting hole. At the conclusion of the round, before you enter the clubhouse, match, sync and SIGN your cards. Make sure it is legible, illegible cards will not be accepted.
Upon entering the clubhouse:
• "$-man" immediately gives it to Jim Bay (or his delegate) upon entering the clubhouse.
• "Score-1" goes straight to Larry Keough and Tony Pro (or designates) to record team scores. After reporting your team score, give your card to the Skin-man.
• "Score-2" goes straight to Jim Cook and Jer Ger to report individual scores. When finished, you will leave your card. Ask in which pile to leave the card.
• "Skin-man" gets the card from Score-1, then goes immediately to Shooter to report birdies.
Shooter will let you know where to find the scoring room. He will call you to the scoring room when everyone has checked in.
And yes, trading tasks are fine if all agree and each person has a job. In a 3-some, one guy will be both Skin-man and $-man.
