Hole-in-One Protocol Updates
In addition to the Hole-In-One rule described in the TTA Procedures document, these are additional steps in the protocol:
No Cash
To avoid any risk of foul play or misplacing of the Hole-in-One kitty, the Hole-in-One official will not bring any cash for paying prize money to the golf course.
Paying the Bar Bill and Prize Money
When a player makes a hole-in-one, the Hole-in-One Official will purchase one $6 drink token from the bartender for each player in the field and add a 20% tip.
If 60 players played, for example, then the Official would purchase 60 tokens at a cost of $432 ($360 for tokens plus the $72 tip) on his credit card. The Official, or the player, will distribute a token to each player in the field that requests one.
The Official will be reimbursed for his credit card expense, and the player will receive his prize money in cash at a subsequent round.
Rainouts
In the unlikely event of an incomplete round due to weather, earthquake or tariffs etc., an ace does not count as such per golf rules. We in the TTA, the true leaders of the golf world, understand the importance of such an event. But it is still an incomplete round. So being the festive guys that we are, the bar bill still gets paid and the guy that made the hole in one gets $150.
